These are the services we provide to support patients on their path to healing.
Gemura - Food For All
We serve low-income patients who oftentimes cannot manage to cover their hospital bills. Solid’Africa assists patients who are unable to pay the remainder of their bills by covering outstanding amount and transportation fees to ensure they return to their homes.
Kiza - Medical Expenses
The Rwandan CBHI, Mutuelle de Santé, covers medicine available at the hospital pharmacies. However, if the prescribed medicine must be obtained from an outside pharmacy, a patient is required to pay 100% of the cost. Private pharmacies do not work with Mutuelle de Santé. Solid’Africa assists the most socio-economically challenged by covering payment of these medicines from outside pharmacies, as well as provision of special medical care items such as crutches and wheelchairs
Gombora - Hospital Bills and Transport
Under the Gombora program, Solid’Africa assists patients who are unable to pay the remainder of their bills by covering the outstanding amounts and transportation fees to help them return to their homes after their recovery. We also pay the caution fee that patients need to pay before their hospitalization. This fee is a form of prepayment that hospitals demand weekly while treating their patients.
Kina - U - Kire

Sukura - Hygiene
Many of the patients, especially children and new mothers, have specific hygienic needs. These patients are high priority because basic hygienic products such as soap, toilet paper, sanitary pads, towels, and blankets can have a huge impact on their health and recovery. Solid’Africa works every week to provide these items to those most in need.

Clean Drinking Water Purification System
Having recognized that clean drinking water is a necessity in hospitals, the members at Solid’Africa have installed Water Purification systems in three hospitals in Rwanda – University Teaching Hospital of Kigali (CHUK), Kanombe Military Hospital, and University Teaching Hospital of Butare (CHUB). Each system produces 2,000 liters every 3 hours, providing clean drinking water to thousands of patients every day.
Menya – Advocacy & Awareness
The Menya program focuses on promotion of Mutuelle de santé, information campaigns on availability of health services, support of citizen’s efforts in promoting public health programs, implementation of projects to improve living conditions in public hospitals. One of our initiatives is Kina-u-Kire, in which we build and manage playrooms in public hospitals. A safe space where kids can play and feel good while healing.
