WE FEED 1500 PEOPLE THREE TIMES A DAY. HELP US END FOOD INSECURITY IN PUBLIC HOSPITALS
Solid’Africa grows its own produce on a 21ha land donated by the government. We currently work with 55 farmers of which 72% are women. In 2022, Solid’Africa harvested 84% of the fresh produce needed to feed patients. Additionally, our farms use non-industrial fertilizer. Our organization ensures 100% waste reduction at each stage of production and consumption by collecting food waste in our kitchen and at the hospitals to make natural fertilizer. Kitchen
Solid’Africa owns an industrial kitchen where we cook medically tailored meals with the help of nutritionists. It is the first semi-automated kitchen in Rwanda, where 9 cooks can produce close to 9000 meals. The Kitchen has a capacity of 15,000 meals a day.
Three times a day we dispatch meals to several hospitals across Kigali. Solid'Africa's "Field Officers" monitor food distribution in partnership with hospital dieticians and social workers and ensure that patients receive meals tailored to their illnesses, dietery needs and restrictions.
